Mentor an ELI Student
ELI students embark on an academic year-long environmental leadership experience. During this time, they design, develop, and implement environmental change-making projects either independently, with a partner, or in a team with the guidance of an external mentor with an expertise and/or interest in the topic. ELI students rely on their mentors for guidance, advice, and support. Join the ELI program as a project mentor and help ELI students bring their ideas to life. Indicate your interest in mentoring through your EcoGauchos profile or contact us.
Join EcoGauchos
EcoGauchos is designed to connect USCB undergraduates who are aspiring environmental professionals with alumni and community partners working in the field to learn about career pathways; get support with resumes and job applications; engage in flash mentorship; and explore jobs, internships, and other educational opportunities. EcoGauchos also allows alumni and other environmental professionals additional ways to get involved with CUEL through workshops, career panels, mentorship, and more. Become a member of EcoGauchos today.
Support CUEL
CUEL programming is made possible by the contributions of generous donors and supporters. Each year, UCSB graduates hundreds of students interested in the environment, yet only a fraction of them become the environmental change agents they want to be. Their biggest challenge is the transition from the classroom to the workplace. CUEL fills this gap. Gifts to CUEL support opportunities in environmental leadership education, career readiness trainings, 1:1 environmental career coaching, and more.
Present in a Careers Workshop
CUEL offers skills training workshops and career panels to highlight and prepare undergraduate students for the diverse possibilities of environmental careers. CUEL relies on its vast network of environmental professionals to host workshops and share knowledge and experiences in environmental careers. We are continually looking for cutting-edge workshop topics to ensure our graduates are up-to-date with the most recent tools and resources for successful employment. Contact us with your ideas or to express interest in participating.
